Why Not A Lake Eufuala Vacation This Year?
Locally, Lake Eufaula is known as the Gentle Giant. It covers several counties and I believe it’s the 15th largest man made lake in the U.S. It has just about everything a vacationer could ask for.
In the Spring, a Family can visit towns such as Checotah (home of Carrie Underwood), Eufaula (lots of History and Antiques) or McAlester. There are any number of smaller towns holding festivals and fairs this time of year.
If you’re an outdoor family that enjoys the water, then you won’t be disappointed by all there is to do on Eufaula Lake. There’s Marina’s where you can rent boats, kayaks, party barges or jet ski’s. The area is dotted with many fine campgrounds where you can rent cabins or enjoy camping out in the open.
If fishing is more your style, then Eufaula is the place to be. Eufaula is known as one of the best Crappie lakes in the Country. If you don’t have time to hunt them down, then I suggest hiring a Lake Eufaula Crappie Guide to take you out. The lake also holds a good number of big Channel, Blue and Flathead catfish!
There are even some places you can go Para sailing. The lovely terrain surrounding Lake Eufaula will captivate you as you glide over head.
Throughout the summer months, you’ll find a host of local events that you’ll love to visit. Since the lake is so huge, the small communities have all types of events planned for the whole family. It doesn’t matter where you’re at in the Lake Eufaula area, there is always something going on in the Summer!
Fall is the local county fair time in Oklahoma. If you haven’t been to a county fair in one of the counties that Lake Eufaula lies in, you’re missing out.
Lake Eufaula is just a stones throw from several major cities. Tulsa is about an hour and half away and Oklahoma City is about 2 hours West. Dallas Texas is just about 2 to 3 hours down the road and Fort Smith Arkansas is about an hour to hour and half away. You’ll never run out of things to see or places to go when you visit the Lake Eufaula area!
