Choosing the Right 6 Man Tent For You

When camping, tents are one of the most important things to consider. Tents are probably the most expensive aspect when it comes to camping. Even an inexpensive Kelty 6 man tent can cost you almost $200. The kind of tent you will purchase will also depend on how many people you will take with you on your camping trip. If you are going camping alone and plan on trekking a mountain, then I would recommend a backpacking tent. If you are travelling with more people then I recommend that you look into 6 man tents. That is why your choice of tent is important.

Many people do not consider the potential of some tents. A good quality backpacking tent, dome tent or wall tent can last you five to seven years depending on how you camp and how you use your tent.

A simple dome tent can be used for many things, and if you have a large family tent all the better. Couple this with a good location and well prepared camping utilities, the possibilities are endless.

Buying a tent just for yourself would be easier because, you do not have to lug around a huge tent everywhere you go while trekking. A family tent however, will be harder to carry because of its weight. A family tent is much more flexible and you get a sense of camaraderie and friendship when you use it. The extra space of the family tent will be good if you cannot leave your tent, due to rainstorms.

Most solo tents however, are sturdier and well engineered, so if you are in a snow storm it can be very helpful.

Even though a tent may say that it is good for six people, you should research more. Sometimes a tent that says it can fit six people can only fit about four or five. Camping with a lot of people usually means you are going to bring a large tent. If you are bringing a large tent camping, check the weather. Large tents take a while to set up, and in less than favourable conditions this could be a big problem, not to mention very frustrating.

In conclusion, don’t limit yourself or your camping experience to what your tent can accommodate. Although if there are three to five persons travelling with you, you should get an eight man tent just to be sure. This setup will give you more room to be clever with your tent.
